I am thrilled to be back at Stonewall Jackson this year to continue the wonderful traditions that we have built - making music, community service, and fantastic concerts! As in years past, I will be available at Stonewall Jackson each morning teaching our three orchestras and will teach Lucy Addison's three orchestras each afternoon! We have much to celebrate from this past year! Over the summer, many Jackson Orchestra students participated in the Summer Music Institute - sponsored by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. These students spent a week at Hollins University learning from master teachers, swimming and recreational activities, attending concerts and masterclasses, and putting on a concert at the end of the week showcasing all they have learned! It was AMAZING! Great job, everyone! Stonewall Jackson Middle School Orchestra earned Excellent and Superior Rating sin their Spring Concert Assessment! What a wonderful way to end the year! You are growing into amazing young musicians and I could not be more proud to be your teacher! We are all so proud of all you have accomplished and the excellence that you continually strive toward! :) For all our new musicians, I cannot wait to meet you all! We will have a fantastic year full of growth and amazing music making. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!  Michelle Smith Johnson 540-853-6040
